About the role:
Halfords is entering an exciting period of brand transformation and we’re expanding our social media team to match that ambition. We’re looking for an experienced Social Media Executive to own the production of engaging, authentic social content across Halfords Autocentre garages and Halfords Mobile Experts.
You’ll play a key role in shaping our new social identity, increasing the visibility of Halfords garages and mobile experts online, and elevating our social presence across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and beyond. Key responsibilities:
- Work directly with the Senior Social Media Manager to implement a social-first social media strategy – with a specific focus on HAC (Halfords Autocentres) and HME (Halfords Mobile Experts)
- Create engaging video and static content optimised for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook following platform best practices and algorithms
- Assist in planning social media content by aligning with the priorities of key internal stakeholders across the wider marketing mix and category trading teams
- Lead the development and implementation of planned social content, ensuring the organic agency is fully briefed at least six weeks in advance
- Work with the wider social team to identify, capture and publish reactive or trend‑led content that showcases Halfords’ brand personality
- Collaborate with agencies to identify the most suitable creators and influencers for achieving campaign goals, ensuring that all content aligns with brand direction and resonates with target audiences
- Maintain a 90‑day social media content plan, ensuring it remains customer‑led and social‑first while consistently supporting key business pillars and campaigns
- Manage and collate feedback on social product and range focuses, liaising with Category Trading teams to gather their input and agree the content approach
- Monitor and report on channel performance, identifying trends, opportunities and areas for improvement to drive continuous optimisation of our organic social strategy
- Carry out competitor analysis to uncover best‑in‑class social formats, content approaches and strategic opportunities across paid and organic social
About you:
- Strong understanding of platform algorithms and social media trends across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook
- Can create high performing static and video content tailored to platform best practices, including ideation, filming, editing, scripting and optimisation
- Confident both on camera and behind the camera when capturing content on-site
- Competent in the use of editing tools such as CapCut, Premiere Pro, Canva or similar to produce authentic, engaging content
- Ability to maintain a forward-looking content plan that balances seasonality, customer needs, brand priorities and key trading moments
- A people person who thrives on building strong relationships to enable content capture at garages, mobile vans, workshops and other on‑site/off‑site locations
- Communicates with confidence and assertiveness when working with external agencies and internal stakeholders at all levels
- Understanding of key organic social metrics such as impressions, reach, views engagements, ER%
- Can analyse social performance data and translate insights into clear recommendations for optimisation
- Good copywriting skills – a perfectionist when it comes to spelling and grammatical errors
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities, seasonal peaks and reactive opportunities
- Full clean UK driving licence
