Product Owner
Job
About the job you’re considering:
We are seeking a talented and delivery-focused Product Owner to join our Digital Customer Experience (DCX) Practice.
In this role, you will work with both private and public sector organisations, playing a pivotal role in shaping products and services that deliver meaningful value for users and clients. Working at the heart of multidisciplinary teams, you will bring together business, technology, design, and delivery expertise to define product roadmaps, prioritise value, and drive continuous, iterative improvement.
The successful candidate will champion user-centred design, ensuring user needs are at the core of every decision, while leveraging data and insights to inform priorities, measure success, and maximise impact. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, solve complex challenges, and help organisations transform through the delivery of innovative digital products and services.
Ideally, you will have experience working in agile and waterfall delivery environments, along with either previous consulting experience, or experience delivering products and services in line with Government Digital Service (GDS) standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for a product professional who is passionate about being at the forefront of digital transformation and creating products and services that deliver measurable outcomes for users and organisations.
Your role:
Product Ownership & Delivery:
•Own and manage product backlogs, ensuring priorities align with user needs, business objectives, and delivery goals.
•Translate strategic outcomes into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
•Work closely with delivery teams to ensure products are delivered effectively and provide measurable value.
•Support agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
•Make informed prioritisation decisions using data, user research, service performance metrics, and stakeholder feedback.
User-Centred Service Design:
•Champion user-centred design principles throughout the product lifecycle.
•Collaborate with User Researchers and Service Designers to understand user needs and identify opportunities for service improvement.
•Ensure product decisions are evidence-based and aligned with GDS principles where applicable.
•Contribute to the design and optimisation of end-to-end user journeys across digital channels.
Product Governance & Process:
•Contribute to service assessments and ensure products are prepared for Alpha, Beta, and Live phases.
•Ensure accessibility, usability, and inclusion are considered throughout delivery.
•Understand and navigate sector governance, assurance processes, and stakeholder environments.
•Work with policy, operational, and technology teams to balance user needs with organisational requirements.
Stakeholder Engagement:
•Build productive relationships with clients, stakeholders, and delivery teams.
•Facilitate meetings and workshops to gather requirements, validate assumptions, and align priorities.
•Communicate product objectives, risks, dependencies, and progress clearly to stakeholders.
•Support senior product leaders in shaping product vision and strategic direction.
You can bring your whole self to work. At Capgemini building an inclusive future is part of everyday life and will be part of your working reality. We have built a representative and welcoming environment, for everyone
Your skills and experience:

•Strong understanding of roadmap development and managing product backlog – paired with the ability to use qualitative and quantitative data to support decision-making.

•Experience working within multidisciplinary agile teams across engineering, design, architecture and delivery.
•Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills.
Desirable:
•Experience delivering digital services within the UK Public Sector and a good understanding of Government Digital Service (GDS) standards.
