This is a high-impact communications role with broad exposure across Canon EMEA, offering the opportunity to shape how the business communicates with employees, customers and external audiences across a diverse and dynamic region. You’ll work closely with senior leaders and stakeholders across markets and functions, providing strategic counsel and turning complex business priorities into engaging, impactful communications.
From executive communications, employee engagement and change programmes to corporate reputation and media relations, the role spans the full communications mix. You’ll have the opportunity to influence both regional and market-level activity, work on high-profile initiatives and campaigns, and play a key role in strengthening Canon’s reputation, culture and connection with its people.
Responsibilities:
- Lead strategic communications across Canon EMEA, supporting business objectives, strengthening reputation and engaging key audiences.
- Shape and deliver impactful internal communications programmes across RHSQ and EMEA, translating complex priorities into clear, relevant and engaging content.
- Create compelling communications including leadership messages, organisational and change communications, executive briefings, Q&As, employee stories and campaigns.
- Advise senior leaders, HR and functional stakeholders on communications strategy, employee engagement, change and employee experience.
- Support high-profile engagement initiatives including Kick Off, Town Halls, Talking Business and internal campaigns.
- Lead corporate and brand communications that strengthen Canon EMEA’s reputation, positioning and thought leadership.
- Deliver external communications including corporate storytelling, executive profiling, media engagement, thought leadership and reputation-building activity.
- Develop high-quality press releases, statements, web content, Q&As and briefing materials, ensuring messaging is accurate, consistent and impactful.
- Partner with stakeholders and agencies to develop engaging stories around product and technology innovation, sustainability and IT security.
- Manage and optimise internal communications channels including Miru, EMEA News, Viva and digital signage.
- Own editorial planning, ensuring content is prioritised, coordinated and aligned with business objectives and audience needs.
- Monitor channel performance, audience engagement and feedback to identify opportunities and improve communications effectiveness.
- Drive continuous improvement across communications processes, governance, tools and ways of working.
- Build strong relationships across business units, functions, national sales organisations and external partners.
- Influence stakeholders through communications expertise, insight and evidence-based recommendations.
- Act as a communications subject matter expert, sharing knowledge and championing best practice across the function.
Qualifications:
- Relevant 5+ years' experience in corporate communications, internal communications, public relations, brand marketing communications, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrable experience developing and implementing communication strategies and plans across multiple audiences and channels.
- Experience supporting corporate reputation, thought leadership, employee engagement, and organisational change communications.
- Strong writing, editing, and presentation skills, with a strong knowledge of digital communication channels, including SharePoint, Microsoft 365 applications, AI-enabled communication tools, and analytics.
- Strong understanding of corporate communications, employee engagement, public relations, and reputation management.
- Experience working within a complex, matrix organisation with multiple stakeholder groups and external agencies.
- Experience translating complex business objectives into effective communication strategies and engaging content.
