Meta is seeking a UX Researcher with deep mixed-methods expertise to drive strategic research across one of our core product areas. In this role, you will lead large-scale research programs that combine qualitative and quantitative approaches to uncover human behaviors, attitudes, and motivations at scale. You will shape product strategy by translating complex research findings into clear, actionable insights that influence decisions across product, design, engineering, and policy. You will operate as a company-level subject matter expert, setting the research agenda and elevating the craft of user experience research across teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and drive the research strategy and roadmap for large-scale, cross-functional product areas, identifying the highest-impact research questions and translating ambiguous business problems into rigorous study designs
  • Lead complex mixed-methods research programs that integrate qualitative methods such as in-depth interviews, ethnographic studies, and usability evaluations with quantitative approaches including surveys, behavioral data analysis, and statistical modeling
  • Design end-to-end data collection strategies that eliminate bias, leverage multiple data sources, and produce findings that accurately represent diverse global user populations
  • Synthesize qualitative and quantitative findings into deep-level insights and compelling narratives that drive product decisions and inform long-term strategy at the organizational level
  • Develop and communicate data visualizations and research frameworks that distill complex findings into clear, actionable formats tailored to varied audiences including product leaders and executives
  • Collaborate with product management, design, data science, engineering, and policy partners to integrate research insights into product planning and prioritization
  • Coach and advise peers on research design, analytical frameworks, qualitative coding schemas, and quantitative methods to elevate research quality across the organization
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks in research methodology, project coordination, and stakeholder alignment to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of research programs
  • Leverage AI tools to redesign research workflows, accelerate synthesis and analysis, and scale insight generation across the organization
  • Build and maintain a network of cross-functional stakeholders, acting as a recognized subject matter expert sought out for guidance on research strategy and methodology

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 13+ years of relevant experience in user experience, applied research and/or product research and development, or a Master’s degree and 11+ years relevant experience, or PhD and 8+ years relevant experience
  • Experience conducting mixed-methods UX research, including both qualitative research such as interviews, ethnography, and usability studies, and quantitative research such as surveys, behavioral analysis, and statistical methods
  • Experience independently leading large-scale, ambiguous, and cross-functional research programs from study design through insight delivery and stakeholder influence
  • Experience designing analytical frameworks and applying advanced qualitative coding and quantitative statistical techniques to generate deep-level insights from complex data sets
  • Experience translating research findings into clear narratives and data visualizations that drive product strategy and resonate with diverse audiences including executive leadership
  • Experience collaborating with and influencing cross-functional partners including product management, design, data science, and engineering to integrate research into product decisions
  • Experience conducting research in the following areas: Integrity, Security, Support and/or Global + Developing countries

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
  • Experience leading international or cross-cultural research programs that account for diverse user contexts and global product considerations
  • Experience integrating AI tools into research workflows to accelerate synthesis, automate analysis, or scale insight generation, with demonstrated measurable impact on research quality or efficiency
  • Experience applying emerging quantitative research methods such as conjoint analysis, MaxDiff, or large-scale behavioral data modeling to complement qualitative programs
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
  • Experience developing organization-wide research measurement frameworks or standards that improve research practice at scale
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
