Job
We’re looking for a strategic, creative Senior Podcast Producer with strong experience in entertainment formats to take a leading role in the development and execution of Global Original podcasts. You’ll report into an Executive Producer but operate with a high degree of autonomy, shaping the editorial vision, managing the full production process, and owning delivery from concept to launch and beyond.
This is an opportunity for someone with a passion for storytelling and sharp editorial instincts, combined with a deep understanding of how video content and social media can amplify podcast growth. You’ll originate bold ideas, steer production teams, and build strong talent relationships that result in compelling, audience‑driven content.
Key Responsibilities:

- Take editorial leadership, alongside an Executive Producer, of Global Original podcasts.
- Manage the end‑to‑end production process, ensuring high‑quality episodes are delivered on time.
- Work to focused briefs and tight production deadlines.
Talent management and relationships – 20%
- Identify and manage on‑ and off‑air talent, supporting them to deliver their best work.
- Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships, including with agents and partners.
Video and social content creation – 20%
- Create memorable video content that will increase our digital and podcast audiences.
- Shape and evolve video output from daily clips for social to full‑length interviews and episodes.
- Optimise video and social posts for maximum engagement across platforms.
Planning, performance and innovation – 10%
- Contribute to long‑term planning, performance analysis and creative reviews.
- Develop original ideas and formats aligned with Global’s podcast strategy.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, audience behaviour and the commercial podcast landscape.
What You’ll Love About This Role:
Think Big: Producing habit‑forming podcasts with some of the UK’s highest‑profile presenters.
Own It: Being part of a highly creative and collaborative team, leading key conversations and striving for success.
Keep It Simple: Creative freedom to develop ideas that align with Global’s podcast strategy, helping the team to achieve its goals.
Better Together: Building relationships within a dynamic team, working in collaboration with people from diverse areas of the business.
What Success Looks Like:
In your first few months, you will have:
- Developed original ideas and formats aligned with Global’s podcast strategy.
- Worked with some of the biggest talent in the podcast space.
- Produced high‑quality podcast episodes on a weekly basis.
- Shaped and evolved the podcast’s video output from daily clips for social to full‑length interviews and episodes.
- Built strong internal and external relationships.
What You’ll Need:
The ideal candidate will be proactive, collaborative and willing to develop and implement innovative solutions, with:
- Significant experience (typically 5+ years) as a producer of podcasts and/or live radio.
- A high level of creativity and imagination in both audio and video, with the ability to edit both.
- Strong knowledge and experience of Adobe Audition and Adobe Premiere Pro. If your experience with video editing software is more limited, a desire to learn is key. Experience with After Effects would be an advantage.
- Experience with video technology (hardware and software) such as vision mixers, playout/graphics systems, and recording or streaming tools (advantageous, not essential).
- A strong understanding of social platforms and how to optimise video and social posts for maximum engagement.
- Strong talent management skills, and the ability to work to focused briefs and tight production deadlines.
- Flexibility to work across a range of categories and styles, with an up‑to‑date understanding of diversity and inclusivity.
- Wide‑ranging and in‑depth knowledge of the current podcast landscape, including awareness of industry trends and the commercial environment in the UK and other key markets.
- A genuine interest in podcasts across multiple categories and genres.
- A detailed understanding of how to promote podcasts effectively and the ability to build additional social media and short‑form audio and video content to drive audiences to the podcasts.
