We’re looking for an experienced and passionate Senior Creative Designer to join our team and help bring innovative, commercially focused designs to life across our product ranges.

This is a great opportunity for a creative professional who enjoys working from initial concepts through to finished products, has a strong eye for detail and understands how to balance creativity with commercial requirements.

Working closely with our Senior and Design Managers, you’ll play an important role in developing exciting customer ranges across our DG UK product categories, while also taking ownership of smaller creative projects from brief through to completion.

What will you be doing?

  • Creating innovative and commercially focused designs across our product categories, working from briefs and developing both new and existing artwork.
  • Taking designs from initial concept and development through to final artwork and repro.
  • Developing designs across a range of formats, products and applications.
  • Creating 3D visuals and presentations for internal teams and customers.
  • Working closely with Design Managers to develop ranges that meet individual customer requirements.
  • Keeping up to date with design trends, market activity and customer needs, bringing fresh ideas and inspiration to the team.
  • Supporting New Product Development (NPD) and contributing creative ideas and concepts.
  • Managing smaller-scale creative projects, taking ownership of timelines, priorities and stakeholder communication.
  • Working closely with Repro, Production and our manufacturing teams to ensure designs are technically suitable and manufactured accurately.
  • Liaising with our UK manufacturing site where required, including attending PCC and Range Review meetings.
  • Supporting customer meetings and product forums, working collaboratively with teams across the business.
  • Working alongside the Lead License Design Manager to understand and follow the relevant licensing processes and requirements.
  • Sharing your knowledge and experience by supporting and developing Junior and Creative Designers, particularly around file set-up, products and processes.
  • Ensuring all work is delivered to a high standard and within agreed deadlines, without compromising on quality.

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone with a strong creative background who can combine great design skills with commercial awareness.

You'll ideally have:

  • 6+ years' creative design experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign, working on an Apple Mac.
  • Strong knowledge of artwork and file set-up, repro and production processes.
  • Experience within packaging and/or product design.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively to tight deadlines.
  • A good understanding of customer and commercial requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • The ability to quickly learn new skills, processes and product knowledge.
  • A flexible and proactive approach to your work.

It would be great if you also have:

  • Good market and consumer awareness.
  • Experience working with different substrates and applications, such as stationery, giftware, home décor and packaging.
  • Experience with Excel and PowerPoint.
  • An understanding of manufacturing and print processes.

About you:

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Creative - passionate about design and always looking for fresh ideas and inspiration.
  • Motivated - enthusiastic, proactive and excited to bring new ideas to the table.
  • Organised - able to manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Commercially minded - able to understand customer requirements and create designs that are both creative and commercially successful.
  • Always learning - keen to develop your skills, share knowledge and continue growing creatively.
