DMG is looking for a talented Video Editor to join our growing podcast team in London.

We make shows covering everything from crime and history to showbiz, news and popular culture - and we're looking for an editor who can make them look every bit as compelling as they sound.

This isn't just about cutting between cameras.

We want someone who knows how to find the moment: the exchange that makes a great YouTube opener, the 45 seconds that becomes an irresistible social clip, or the reaction you know people are going to share.

You'll work alongside producers and the wider podcast team to turn our shows into brilliant video - from full-length episodes to trailers, highlights and social-first cutdowns.

Main Responsibilities:

What you'll be doing:

You'll edit video across a diverse slate of DMG podcasts, taking content from raw footage through to polished, platform-ready delivery.

That means:

  • Editing full-length video podcast episodes, including multi-camera studio recordings..
  • Creating sharp, engaging social cutdowns that hook viewers quickly and keep them watching..
  • Finding the best moments in long-form conversations rather than simply waiting to be given timestamps.
  • Creating trailers, teasers, highlights and other promotional video..
  • Adding captions, graphics, imagery, B-roll and other visual elements where they improve the story..
  • Adapting edits, framing, pacing and duration for different platforms and formats..
  • Working closely with producers to develop the visual identity and editing style of individual shows.
  • Managing multiple edits and deadlines across a busy production schedule.
  • Keeping projects, media and workflows organised and handing over clean, well-managed Premiere projects..
  • You know the difference between edited and watchable.

Person Specification:

We're looking for someone with proven professional video-editing experience and a showreel that makes us want to keep watching.

You'll need:

  • Excellent working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro..
  • A strong showreel demonstrating professional editing work..
  • Experience editing both long-form video and short-form/social content..
  • A strong instinct for storytelling, pacing, comedy, tension and the all-important hook..
  • Experience creating cutdowns from interviews, podcasts or other long-form material..
  • A good eye for composition, graphics, captions and visual polish..
  • The ability to work quickly without making the work feel rushed..
  • Great attention to detail and the ability to respond constructively to feedback..

And, crucially, you understand that the platform matters.

  • You should know how audiences consume podcasts and video on YouTube, Spotify and Apple Podcasts, and understand that the same piece of content shouldn't necessarily be treated identically everywhere.
  • You're interested in what makes people click, what makes them stay, and what makes them share.

It helps if you also have...

  • Experience with After Effects, Photoshop, Audition, colour grading or audio post-production would be useful, but we're more interested in your editing instincts than how many Adobe applications you can list.
  • Experience working with podcasts, entertainment, factual content, journalism or fast-turnaround digital media would also be a bonus.

About you:

  • You're probably at the stage where you've mastered the mechanics of editing and now want more opportunity to make creative decisions.
  • You can take a brief - but you can also improve one.
  • You'll spot a better opening, suggest a stronger cut, find the reaction everyone else missed or tell a producer when the 30-second clip they've asked for would be much better at 47.
  • You're collaborative, organised, curious and comfortable working at pace.

Most importantly, you have taste.

We can show you our workflows. We can introduce you to our shows. We can explain our formats.

What we're really hiring is your judgement.

How to apply:

Please send us your CV and showreel/portfolio.

And because we'd rather see how you think than read another paragraph about being "passionate about content", we'd also like you to include:

One piece of podcast or social video you think is brilliantly edited - and, in no more than three sentences, tell us why it works.

We're interested in your eye as much as your experience.

Our Commitment:

We are committed to increasing diversity and maintaining an inclusive workplace culture. We welcome applications from all qualified candidates regardless of their ethnicity, race, gender, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, age, marital status, or disability.

We are Disability Confident Committed. Please let us know if you require any recruitment documentation in other formats or if you require reasonable adjustments to be made during the recruitment process. Please be assured that any such information will be held separately to your recruitment application and will not be considered as part of the selection process.
