Executive Producer – The News Agents
Job
We are Global:
At Global, we think big, work hard, and never stand still. We’re the proud home of the best media and entertainment, driven by our talented and passionate people. Our mission? To make everyone’s day brighter — our Globallers, our audiences, our partners, and our communities. Whether we’re in the studio, building world-class technology, or securing record Outdoor advertising partnerships, we make sure we’re doing it as a team.
Your Role:
As Executive Producer for The News Agents Podcast at Global, you will lead the editorial, creative, and operational delivery of one of the most influential daily news podcasts in the market, ensuring it remains agenda-setting, distinctive, and must-listen.
You’ll oversee the end-to-end production of the podcast, from editorial planning and talent management to day-to-day workflow management and leading the post-production edit process. You’ll combine first-rate editorial judgement with outstanding production skills, strong leadership, and a deep understanding of how audiences consume news across audio, video, social, and digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
-

Work closely with hosts, producers and newsroom teams to shape stories, guests and coverage, while maintaining the highest editorial, legal and compliance standards. Oversee post-production and ensure consistently high-quality output.
-
Strategy & Planning (30%): Build strong relationships with presenters and work closely with the Editor and Digital Editor to plan key coverage and shape the show’s direction. Use audience data and listener insight to inform decisions and identify opportunities to grow reach, engagement and impact across platforms.
-
Outside Broadcasts (20%): Plan and lead outside broadcasts, major news events and on-location recordings. Coordinate editorial, production and technical teams to ensure smooth delivery, manage risk and compliance, and maintain the podcast’s editorial and production standards.
What You’ll Love About This Role:
This is a rare opportunity to lead a flagship news podcast with a loyal and growing audience, shape the daily national conversation, and define what premium news audio looks like in a highly competitive market.
-
Think Big: Set an ambitious editorial vision for The News Agents, constantly looking for original stories, bold treatments, and new ways to surprise and inform audiences.
-
Own It: Take end-to-end responsibility for the podcast’s daily output, standards, and performance, making confident editorial decisions in fast-moving news moments.
-
Keep it Simple: Cut through complexity to tell clear, compelling stories, giving the team focused direction and ensuring everyone understands priorities and expectations.
-
Better Together: Build strong, collaborative relationships with presenters, producers, and colleagues across News, Digital, Marketing, and Commercial to maximise the impact of the show.
