About The Job:

We’re looking for a middle weight UX designer to take a user-centred approach to research and design to create innovative solutions that ensure our products and communication are usable, enjoyable and accessible for all of our users. We want someone who’s passionate about HCD and understands the importance it holds in making successful business decisions.

You’ll be part of a dynamic team, working closely with UX researchers, UI designers, content and marketing teams and product managers. You’d map out user flows and create wireframes while keeping the UI and content in mind. You’ll need to collaborate, keep stakeholders involved and champion UX design by always putting the user need first.

About the role:

We’re looking for a UX designer who can understand business requirements and then define the right research methods to uncover insights that will allow them to structure user journeys for both product and marketing channels.

Teamwork is essential in this role, so you’ll be someone who enjoys working with others, brainstorming or analysing briefs together to deliver compelling solutions time after time.

Who we’re looking for:

  • You’ll be experienced in working as part of a close-knit team, using agile methodology as well as an agile mindset in the work you produce.
  • You’ll have an understanding of user research and the differences in research and testing methods.
  • You’ll relish having to think on your feet - a fast-paced, constantly changing environment won’t phase you.
  • You’ll be good at managing relationships across a broad team that includes senior people from just about every department in our business.
  • You’ll need to understand users’ requirements, and be able to work closely with content designers to find the best way to structure and communicate solutions.
  • You’ll be able to use and analyse data to inform UX and design decisions.
  • While user needs are the primary focus, you’ll also need to balance this with business objectives and make calls on the best outcome, on a project-by-project basis.
  • You’ll enjoy the challenge of creating solutions that work both functionally and aesthetically.
  • You’ll need to clearly articulate your design approach and the rationale behind it when communicating with stakeholders.
  • You’ll be comfortable leading meetings and occasionally running workshops when needed.
  • You’ll be expected to contribute to user research – from helping to structure surveys, to creating prototypes (hi and lofi) for user testing.

Skills we are looking for:

  • Experience using Adobe CC, in particular XD.
  • Creative, conceptual thinking.
  • Ability to write micro-copy.
  • Experience of survey and form design.
  • Ability to create interactive prototypes.
  • Good understanding of UX methodologies to identify user needs and understand how to answer those needs.
  • Experience of mapping user journeys for both product and marketing routes.
  • Be familiar with creating information architecture.
  • Knowledge of design systems.
  • An understanding of UI and content design.
  • Ability to work independently and stick to deadlines.
  • Confidence in communicating effectively with senior members of different teams.
  • Great attention to detail.
