This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in an exciting and transformative project from the start where you’ll be working closely with researchers, designers, engineers and product managers from across the business.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

As a UX designer within the design system team, you will:

  • lead the co-creation of the governance, processes and principles needed to manage the design system.

  • collaborate with your team and external squads to assure and document design standards.

  • evaluate the quality, consistency and usefulness of design system guidance with users.

  • iterate the design system based on evidence and sound rationale.

  • proactively communicate changes and updates to colleagues across the business.

  • assist colleagues across the business with design and accessibility questions.

  • create a shared understanding of users and their experience through the collaborative creation of UX artefacts.

  • present complex information and concepts to colleagues in a clear and articulate manner.

  • work with the lead UX designer and the user centred design practice to promote and shape UX design at HL.

EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:

We need to see evidence that you:

  • are a passionate advocate for both high design and engineering standards with a meticulous attention to detail.

  • are an open, confident, and considered communicator and collaborator.

  • have excellent knowledge of established design and interaction patterns.

  • have excellent knowledge of web accessibility guidelines.

  • have experience designing and deploying design systems at scale.

  • have experience facilitating effective collaborative workshops with colleagues and stakeholders.

  • can follow a rigorous, yet flexible, user-centred design process within an Agile environment.

  • can produce testable prototypes (using varied tools and methods) for design research and evaluation.

  • can clearly articulate design decisions to both designers and stakeholders.

  • employ excellent analytical, and critical thinking skills in your work.

  • have a degree in UX Design, human-computer interaction, or a related field (desirable but not essential).

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:

Not essential, but we would like to see evidence that you have:

  • experience working in distributed teams.

  • experience with Adobe Analytics (or similar).

  • experience with Adobe Experience Manager (or similar).

  • working knowledge of front-end development.
