Technical Product Owner
We're looking for an experienced Technical Product Owner to play a key role within our Data Management team here at William Hill. Working closely with your stakeholders in Gibraltar, London, Leeds, Krakow and Malta you’ll contribute to our end-to-end Data and Digital technology product management efforts, to support the development of innovative and industry-changing technology services and products placed at the heart of our business divisions.
Working with us you’ll be at heart of the technological revolution of one the world’s most trusted betting and gaming companies. We deal with projects ranging from widgets, desktop or mobile casinos and betting sites… just to name a few. We process 500 online Sportsbook bets per second each Saturday, that’s the same as orders processed by Amazon UK, on its busiest day of the year. Your role in the team:
Based in our Gibraltar office you will help define the Data and Digital Technology Service strategy, develop the roadmap, identify requirements, collaborate with engineering on implementation and support deployment of use cases to excite and delight our customers.
Leading Service Design initiatives working with product, customer experience, and technology teams you’ll define and mobilise on customer experience, for example to define industry-leading customer personalisation. You will lead colleagues through interactive design thinking sessions and drive platform requirements and strategy for data collection, integration, processing, publishing and serving for our varied business units.
Partnering with Digital and Data platform and engineering teams you’ll help consolidate and prioritise requirement backlogs. Here, you’ll define products and services including the scope and prioritisation of features of platforms in an agile way while the needs and development evolve. Influence product and technology strategy and direction, and product & user experience.
As a Technical Product Owner, you'll work closely with product owners, business analysts and engineers to facilitate and guide the product development process. You’ll have a deep understanding of the needs on data of William Hill core stakeholders and how it powers digital customer experiences and internal operational efficiencies.
You’ll also work closely with operation and engineering teams to develop and roll out operational support models for the Data Platform’s products and services. Here you’ll schedule and perform User Acceptance Testing and ensure requirements were understood and implemented as requested.
- Experience in a Product Owner (or similar) role.
- Experience demonstrating strong leadership, self-motivation, accountability, can-do attitude, quick learning and creative adoptive mindset.
- Strong technical experience in the areas of cloud, big data, machine learning, APIs, scalability, performance and reliability.
- Exceptional collaboration and partnership skills with the ability to work in a global environment and drive consensus in cross-functional teams.
- Outstanding communications ability to a diverse audience, including C-level executives, product and technical stakeholders.
- Broad domain knowledge of the state of art technologies, specifically Kafka, Databricks, Snowflake, etc.
- Strategic thinker who can balance big picture strategy with detailed, flawless execution.
