The DOIT organization is looking for a Senior UX designer to join our team in Edinburgh as part of a strategic investment to build technology that will enable Amazon to adopt the most scientific approach to Global Talent Management. DOIT builds intelligent products and services that offer a consumer grade user experience and use science to manage talent development at Amazon by embracing our leadership principles culture. Our designers are responsible for creating and maintaining the key talent management experiences that are core and common across Amazon. Our team is seeking an innovative and highly motivated Senior UX Designer to create experiences that hundreds of thousands of Amazonians use every day to manage their careers.

We are looking for a talented and experienced design leader that has a proven track record of establishing a bold vision and delivering bar-raising, customer-centric experiences. In this role you will be responsible for product experiences that support employee engagement, growth and development, and performance. You'll help build tools to manage processes such as goals, feedback, reviews and promotions. Our team directly shapes and influences the future growth of every employee at Amazon.

In this role, you’ll work with a cross-functional, highly capable team of designers, researchers, content strategists, learning experience designers, product managers and engineers, inventing and iterating on end-to-end workflows and product experiences. You’ll develop your ideas with sketches, prototypes, wireframes and story boards, and confidently communicate your vision to senior executives to influence the best experience for our customers. We're looking for someone who can bring disruptive ideas to life - you're a skilled UI designer, with the capacity to think deeply about the architecture of the product space.

You will join a team of passionate designers to create products to address the sheer scale of HR at Amazon, while providing engaging, personal, and human experiences. You will be responsible for cultivating and crafting the vision for the next generation product suite, and leading the execution of that vision.


Responsibilities:
· Simplify and distill complex business processes into intuitive product experiences.
· Create and rapidly iterate on ideas using process flows, prototypes, wireframes, and higher-fidelity designs to effectively communicate design strategies and product flows.
· Participate in the discovery and planning of new products and features while helping drive the design vision across our product suite.
· Define information architecture across a complex suite of product experiences.
· Lead and mentor other designers, product managers, and engineers.
· Identify opportunities to think differently about the status quo on customer experiences, based on customer research, best practices and design thinking.
· Work closely with UX Research in the development and evaluation of personas, usability studies, and testing.
· Articulately present design vision, direction and solutions to senior leadership.

Part of our team is based at the Amazon Development Centre in beautiful Edinburgh, Scotland. Our office is in the middle of town, right in between the two UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Some travel may be required, as we try and bring the team together for collaboration when possible.

Basic Qualifications:

· Design experience.
· An available online portfolio.
· Experience mentoring designers and leading complex projects.
· Leader in best practices for UI design, as well as demonstrated experience and knowledge of UX design best practices.
· Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills; the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organisation.
· An unfailing passion and capacity to advocate on behalf of our users.
· Experience in leading projects in the strategic phase - defining requirements, gathering generative data, and connecting with customer needs.
· The ability to manage ambiguity, work autonomously, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience in UI copy writing/microcopy.
· Enterprise software design experience in a global context.
· Proven track record of inclusive design best practices - understanding and commitment to web accessibility, localisation and universal design.
