Help us transform a bell-weather of the UK high street into one of the most progressive & creative online businesses in any industry, anywhere. If, like us, you have the vision and bold ideas to help us realise this ambition, then we’d love for you to join our Marketing Team here at Debenhams. As the Senior Digital Marketing Manager for one of the UK’s most beloved and respected brands, we need your eye for detail, passion and inspiration to help us to stand-out from the crowd.

Job Summary:

We are looking for an awesomely qualified, hungry Senior Digital Marketing Manager to develop acquisition and digital brand strategies across biddable/paid media, affiliate marketing and SEO. In addition to being a rare expert across the aforementioned areas, you’ll be able to manage a substantial digital budget, have a can-do attitude and be a great communicator at a senior level of the organisation.

This hands-on role requires daily performance monitoring and optimisation to ensure that aggressive business goals are met. As such, you will be highly analytical and provide leadership and support to your team and key stakeholders within the business such as Business Insights, Trading, Brand Marketing, Operations, Finance and eCommerce. This is as much a brand function as it is an acquisition and direct response one so it will be immersed in the planning and delivery of through-the-line campaigns.

Note: Since this is a senior role in an area of the business that will inevitable drive growth, you will need to possess genuine gravitas, confidence and positivity in order to add-value at a Leadership level. In return we are offering a career defining opportunity working for a brand of international fame and heritage with an exciting new future.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to…

  • Plan, deliver and evolve all digital marketing activity, including Paid Media, SEO, Affiliate marketing and display advertising campaigns.
  • Measure and report performance of all digital marketing activities against agreed KPIs and make recommendations to stakeholders in-line with business objectives and priorities.
  • Work closely with Business Insights to evolve digital measurement and reporting towards a more sophisticated, accurate understanding of intra and cross-channel performance e.g. paths to conversion and multi-touch-attribution
  • Work closely with the Head of Marketing to support and deliver brand awareness and brand perception objectives.
  • Identify trends and insights from data and measurement frameworks and use those to inform performance and budget optimisation on a continual basis.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams/departments (e.g. Brand, Creative, Trading and eCommerce) to ensure collective and cohesive campaign execution.
  • Evaluate the customer journey across relevant digital touch points to ensure optimal customer experience.
  • Drive digital marketing innovation, agile ways-of-working and a culture of continual test-and-learn/improvement across the department.

Experience/Skills:

The ideal candidate has a strong B2C retail background, in fast-paced, ‘trading led’ environments. Suffice to say, a broad and deep knowledge of the aforementioned acquisition channels is essential while a background or interest in apparel/fashion is an added-bonus.

  • Ability to plan and manage channel and/or campaign budgets
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with all key business departments e.g. Business Insights, Buying & Merchandising, e-commerce, Creative & Studio, Brand Marketing, and IT
  • Minimum of six years’ experience in digital marketing across a wide range of acquisition channels
  • Strong working knowledge of biddable media technologies and advertising platforms
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Exceptional organisational and time-management abilities
  • Commercial acumen a must
  • Creative thinking a pus
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office package
  • A team player, first-and-foremost

KPIs:

  • Sessions
  • New Customer acquisition and CPAs
  • Channel ROIs, cost per session and CPA
  • Revenue
  • Brand awareness and relevant affinity metrics
  • Leadership development
