The Freemium team focusses on the entire user journey, and drives platform and revenue growth for Spotify, whilst providing a holistic understanding of our users to inform product strategy and development. You will be part of the Freemium Insights team that consists of highly motivated and passionate individuals, specialising in User Research, Data Science and Market & Consumer Insights.

As part of our team, you will represent the voice of our users across projects, by observing user needs and behaviour and working closely with Product, Engineering and Design to craft new insights that address these needs. Your work will impact how we engage with consumers across the user journey, and provide critical input when crafting compelling, user relevant offerings and experiences.

This is a highly impactful role where you and the rest of the team will be able to directly impact how millions of Spotify users are supported around the world.

What You'll Do:

  • Define, plan and conduct research projects to uncover user needs & behaviour as part of a cross functional team consisting of user researchers, data scientists, product managers, designers and engineers.
  • Deliver fresh, business relevant insights that are brought to life through engaging storytelling in continuous dialogue, presentations and workshops.
  • Leverage evaluative frameworks to facilitate evidence-based product and design decisions.
  • Contribute actively to company-wide research practice and community.

Who You Are:

  • You have 5+ years experience as a User Researcher at consumer-focused companies, with expertise in quantitative research, ideally working with growth strategy across the user journey
  • You have a degree in behavioural economics, social psychology, human computer interaction or a related field
  • You have experience leading survey-related research (e.g. questionnaires, sophisticated sampling and weighting strategies).
  • You are skilled in the necessary analysis tools (SPSS, R, Python), with experience bridging the gap between quantitative and qualitative data streams.
  • You are comfortable planning, scoping, conducting, analysing and communicating international research
  • You are an engaging storyteller and communicator, able to speak fluently to business people, designers, engineers and other stakeholders (in English)
  • You are a dedicated advocate of a user-centred approach to product development.

Perks of being in the band:

  • Extensive learning opportunities, through our dedicated team, GreenHouse.
  • Flexible share incentives letting you choose how you share in our success.
  • Global parental leave, six months off - fully paid - for all new parents.
  • All The Feels, our employee assistance program and self-care hub.
  • Flexible public holidays, swap days off according to your values and beliefs.
  • Spotify On Tour, join your colleagues on trips to industry festivals and events.
