The Power Product Owner (PO) will report in to the Strategic Implementation and Modernisation Manager and will be responsible for the development of the digital roadmap for the desk, supporting the transition to intraday data management in support of balancing operations, asset optimisation activities, data management and trade signal models.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop a digital strategy including resource requirements, technology solutions and delivery management approach.
  • Drive business alignment around the digital agenda for the trading book within the book and across Trading & Shipping.
  • Work with the Chief Data Officer to ensure digital developments meet T&S standards and share best practice and existing solutions where relevant.
  • Act as key business lead and contact for IT, Data Strategy and Core Strategy to ensure timely delivery of digital delivery in line with business priorities.
  • Maintain KPI's to measure impact of the digital advances.
  • Critique new technologies and systems (internal and external) to support delivery of our long-term digital agenda.
  • Lead project delivery and governance/status against our digital road map.
  • Both act as the Product Owner and collaborate with Product Owners on desk to ensure requirements are fully mapped out and delivered to plan.
  • Coordinate testing and user acceptance criteria with the desk.

Job Advert:

Crucial Experience:

  • Product Owners come from a wide variety of backgrounds such as Traders, Operators, Technologists and much more, with differing levels of experience and expertise, but all have one thing in common: passion for transformation and modernisation of businesses through use technology & data and process re-engineering.
  • Project management experience and the key roles required to enable digital delivery on behalf of a trading desk.
  • Awareness of key trading systems.
  • Able to critique and appraise new technologies and their potential fit for the business.
  • Strategy planning and delivery planning.
  • Business case development.
  • Familiarity with the Core Strategist, Data Strategist and Quant Trader Developer roles and their service to the business.

Desirable Experience:

  • Familiar with Gas and Power markets.
  • Python, Sophisticated Excel.
  • Additional European languages.
