The purpose of this role is to lead the strategy & delivery of our end to end customer facing social content and consumer PR outreach – including bread & butter PR (product placement and media incoming) + major initiatives. This is a year when we intend to land a range of game-changing PR and social initiatives – so it’s a 6 month period where a senior social and PR professional can really make their mark and build a real legacy. Customer service responses (on social and PR) are not in scope and the role focuses purely on UK.

Please note, this role is a 6 Month FTC, and will be offered on a FTE/Pro-rata basis. 

As part of this role, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Delivering a game-changing PR plan that fundamentally shifts consumer perceptions:
    • Deliver “bread & butter” which includes product placement and PR coverage for established retail events – e.g.  Christmas Gifting, Black Friday, Sale etc. – with clear coverage reporting + grabbing hold of reactive or “jump on the band wagon” moments.
    • Deliver major perception changing coverage for our big initiatives. Such initiatives pivot around new news (e.g. a new service / prop) or are connected to one of our key comms priorities. 
    • Work out how we embed PR into the econometric model: Thereby to move to a place where we can attribute sales & margin benefit to our activity (as we do for advertising and more).
  • Delivering a game-changing organic Social plan:
    • Review our social strategy and evolve / improve: Within that make sure we right size our financial investment in this area including the basis by which we spend £s on fan growth  / engagement. 
    • Deliver engagement growth: so more and more people see our content and engage with it (liking, commenting, sharing etc.) – with various streams of engagement.
  • Be a fantastic coach: Make sure this period is one where team skills & engagement accelerates.
  • Look at our ways of working and recommend improvements. Both within the in-house social team and for the agency model we use in PR.

Desired skills & experience:

  • Mastery of PR: with strong experience of working with external agencies to achieve game-changing quantity and quality of coverage (and so ultimately sales/EBIT/CLV).
  • Mastery of Social: with strong experience of running a social team to deliver step-changed levels of following and engagement (and so ultimately sales/EBIT/CLV).
  • Leadership of thinking: creating game-changing thinking and then convincing a senior leaders to back it.
  • Leadership of people: leading teams to create excellent results and high levels of engagement within the team.
  • Collaboration: working as part of a team is key to this role including active listening skills and clear communication.
