What will you be doing?

V Creative, is our in-house team of creatives and designers producing super-engaging work across iconic brands including Nickelodeon, Comedy Central and Channel 5. During the Broadcast Production Assistant apprenticeship, you will gain insight into all areas of short-form production and post production whilst learning the practical skills needed to create short-form content for on air, digital and social platforms.

  • The Junior Content Producer (gfx design) will have the opportunity to work with each of the ViacomCBS brands. MTV, C5 & Comedy and Nickelodeon.
  • You will gain experience across a wide range of projects and platforms, primarily creating motion graphics for on air promos and channel branding.
  • Learn what broadcasting design is, how to work with other creative people and how to collaborate to work together. We will teach them the skills they need to help the team during busy periods.
  • You will learn how to think about ideas and the approach to take when they get a brief. In particular we will teach them how to make on-screen graphics like channel bugs, lower 3rd and idents.
  • The apprentice will shadow senior designers to see how they approach their briefs, and how to think about ideas and brainstorm together.
  • Not only how to develop a creative mind but also practical skills for on screen graphic design e.g. how to animate their design and what programmes we use in our field.

What are we looking for?

  • At least five GCSEs including Maths and English at Grade C (5-9)/ A level Maths (grade C+ or equivalent UCAS points).
  • An interest in motion graphics design and maybe some experience in Photoshop or Illustrator would be great. Even if its in your free time. 
  • a basic understanding of general design principles including typography and layout would be good.
  • A passion for graphic design in all its forms, and the part design plays in creating genre-defining shows.
  • Someone who is a good problem solver or looks out for better ways to do things.
  • A real enthusiasm to learn, build relationships and get involved.
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced fun environment and can adapt to changing requests.
  • Someone who is eager to work with people, in a team but also open to taking responsibility for tasks and able to be relied upon to take on tasks.
  • We take pride in maintain and creating an inclusive culture so we want you to be your true self in the role, work well with diverse teams and collaborative environments.
  • You’ll get a lot of training but you will need to have some basic IT skills like, Microsoft word/excel/PowerPoint/emai
